God, I am so stressed out about getting everything done now. Finals are horrible. Thursday is the gfa show and I have to get everything finished for that class by then. I'm working on one more project and have to touch up the 3 other pieces I'm planning on showing. I may end up pulling an all nighter, or a very long night anyway on Wednesday evening. I'm really worried because I'm doing these 9 small oil paintings for the show, I just started painting them yesterday and only have one finished and they need to be done and as dry as possible by Thursday. I've got class from 7:30-10:15 tonight and then a community meeting about winter break at 10:30. Then I'll stay up as late as I'm able working on these. I have morning class, but I don't really have to show up for that until after lunch because the morning is a work time since half the class is presenting their final projects this week, luckily for me I go the next week. So, class until 3 on Tuesday and then from 6-9 I have the desk job. I'll have to come back and paint/work on the other gfa stuff. Then the next day is 4-10 class, but I still need to do the homework for that class in the morning and buy the paper to do it on. Then that night is the night before the show and I'll have to work and make sure everything is ready. The class is 9-3 the next day and the show is from 12-1. Sometime before the show I also have to go to rite aid to get something to hold my two large drawings and type and print off an artist statement and the titles of my gfa pieces.
That's not the end of my finals troubles though. The next Monday my Shakespeare 5-7 page final essay is due, I've done nothing. I'll have to work on that during my desk job this Tuesday and on Friday and next Monday. Tuesday my Photo final is due and I've got to work on that all weekend long since photo takes so much fucking time. Wednesday evening is my drawing final review which I'm actually not too worried about since my individual review will be the last one since I went first for the mid term and will be around 9:30pm so I'll have plenty of time to finish up my drawing for then. Then Thursday is the gfa final critique and homo civ class. The homo civ 7-10 page essay isn't due until the next Monday thank god so I think I'll probably go home on Thursday or Friday and then we e-mail the teacher with our final papers and I'll be able to work on the paper at home and send it in. |

Today has been a pretty good day so far. All of the morning through about 2:30 I worked on my Drawing homework which was a waist up self portrait in ink and I decided that since it was Halloween today I was going to do my portrait of myself in my slytherin quidditch uniform. It's not perfect, but I'm quite happy with the critique I got on it and I was the only one to think of wearing a costume for the portrait. It took a while, but the homework was actually fun this time so I didn't mind too much. Our teacher brought in some candy for us too and is letting us leave a 1/2 hour early today. Dinner was very good too and a girl walked up to me while I was eating and told me that she liked my devil may cry shirt. I've been in a really good mood all day. :)
I've still got homework to do for homo civ tomorrow. I misread the syllabus and missed doing a reading response the other week and I have one due this week anyway, so I'll have to do those. I'm pretty behind in the reading for that class, but the teacher is nice and I don't think she'll count my response late because everything got kind of mixed up around the quiz the other week. In a few weeks I'll have a presentation about whatever I choose my topic for my final paper to be. I think I'm going to do it about Shakespeare and Marlowe.
Nanowrimo starts tonight at 12:01...I think I'm just going to write a few sentences and then work more on it tomorrow evening. I might take my laptop with me to gfa and homo civ and work on it a bit during that.
Oh, and as far as shifts go for the desk assistant job, I'm pretty happy with the time I got. I work Tuesdays from 6-9pm for the rest of the semester and next semester I should get more work time. I'm so glad I've still got Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off, I really didn't want to work those days at all. |

Drawing was okay...I guess. The teacher seems alright. He's funny and seems easy to talk to, but he's really critical and says many more critical things that good things about a piece. I prefer closer to an equal amount of both myself, but whatever, my drawing today sucked anyway. And don't anyone try to tell me 'I'm sure it was fine' or anything 'cause it wasn't. Of course, it's hard to do a drawing when you've done no art for 4 months and you're just drawing someone from your class who isn't actually lit and you're just using shitty ambient classroom light. I also shouldn't try to crosshatch, I suck at it. It doesn't come naturally at all and ends up making my drawings look bad.
Anyway, tomorrow is GFA and I already know and like my teacher for that. Hopefully we'll get out a bit early from that at least tomorrow, because normally I'll only have an hour break in between that and my Homosexuality and Civilization class which I think should be really interesting. I don't think dinner break is built into that class though, but luckily it ends at 6:45 which is before the dining hall closes.
I learned how to play Risk yesterday! I did pretty well for the first time and had I known all the rules I would have done much better and would have destroyed Max and Carl. Taylor and I formed an alliance in the second half of the game to try to take them down. We stayed up so late playing, we started late too. Normally I wouldn't have gone out and played a game that late, but I don't have class Wednesday mornings so I can sleep in. I think I got back to the room around 2:30/3:00 and fell straight into bed and slept in until 10-ish, which is quite late for me. Today was really boring and I couldn't do much before I had class at 4:00.
I don't think Taylor is cosplaying Gabranth to Katsucon anymore. She still plans on doing Final Fantasy, but the costume is really daunting to her. I'll admit, it does look extremely difficult to make, but I think she could do it and I'd help her out if I could. I still plan on going as Vayne, but I'd also like to cosplay Ark from Final Fantasy III to a convention sometime too. ( Here's a pic of him. ) He's really cute and reminds me of my character Evan(who I think Allison and Heather know of somewhat) and it just looks like a fun outfit. Plus, it'd be another not over cosplayed Final Fantasy character! |

I don't play Half Life, and I doubt I'll play the next one that comes out either, but I saw this trailer last school year and we watched it again last night and since it looks pretty awesome I thought I'd post it.
I wish I had a portal gun. :( |

I just bought a copy of PSM magazine(how could I not with that huge pic of Dante and Nero on the front), and there is a contest to win one of 3 custom Devil May Cry PS3s. To win though, you have to send in a picture of yourself doing something badass. ...problem is, I don't think I really do badass things very often...
